Devroom submission

Thanks for your interest in organising a devroom. Please note that by applying for a devroom you are making a commitment to fill the schedule for your track, at least for a half day track.

Devroom coordinators must enter a complete schedule into our conference system by 31st December. It is particularly important to be available and to respond promptly to emails about the schedule for about a week either side of this date. We also require all proposals to be submitted directly by the speakers into our system.

We are using Matrix, an online platform (streaming + chat) allowing devroom organizers to run the conference with prerecorded talks with live Q&A. All recordings will be archived and will be published under the same license as all FOSDEM content (CC-BY).

Feel free to mention in the comments what your preferred timespan would be on either Saturday and/or Sunday. If your room gets a lot of submissions, we can extend it to two days.

For an online edition we want to point out that a devroom can not be organised by one person alone. Especially during the event you will need at least 5 volunteers at hand to help out. It is the devroom manager responsibility to assemble this team.

Pentabarf account

We also require you and your secondary to register an account in our conference management system pentabarf. If you have been a speaker or a devroom organiser before, you should already have one. Please reuse it rather than creating a new one. If you don't have an account, please create one at and activate it. For existing accounts, passwords can be reset at .
